Beetle & Cosmos! This is a tiny ACEO-sized waterco Beetle & Cosmos! This is a tiny ACEO-sized watercolor on cotton, and I love how that small scale makes the details feel even more intimate and precious. Week 3 of #bugsinbloom2026 is such a joy to follow along with! I love seeing everyone’s interpretations come to life. Tagging along with the talented creators behind this challenge: @heathermuellerdesign @jillian.nichole.illustration @kim_ko_design @palindromeart @megpieprint @shellypenko This turned out like a little jewel box moment ✨ A beetle glinting like polished glass resting on a light laden cosmos like nature paused for a second just to show off. I wanted that feeling of something small but unmistakably alive, catching light and holding its own against all that airy bloom. Nature is art! #watercolor #acoe #miniatureart #botanicalart

I was always gentle with these tiny creatures. As for the moonflower we are growing some in my herbal tea garden near the hummingbird feeder. Not quite there yet this season. Trying to create an environment for my children to make memories catching their own fireflies! Or lightning bugs! Whichever you prefer!
