I used to walk down the street staring at the clouds imagining a life filled with art, beauty and hope. Today, our family grows food on our 5 acre homestead where dragonflies dance across the sky and chickens run around like little raptors! I teach from home and paint every moment possible. Now I share what I've learned so you can start your own creative, faith-filled journey!

When my friend commissioned this painting I knew r When my friend commissioned this painting I knew right away I would pour my heart and prayers into it! She shared her story with me about her sweet son that she had to say goodbye to when she should have been enjoying a birthday. My heart ached for her knowing all too well that grief that comes and goes when you least expect it. She trusted me with a painting that included all her children, she gave me such beautiful insight into their unique personalities. In keeping with the theme from her baby shower I made this as a nod to Peter Rabbit, of course with my own style. I created the pages of a weathered storybook symbolizing the journey of our lives mapped out for us. The girls gathering wildflowers, a leader, a nurturer, an elegant youngest well loved by her sisters. I had their pictures on my wall with notes about them and thought so deeply about how to capture their individuality in a representation of them as bunnies. And then of course, the sweet boy looking over the page at his sisters with a playful smile. Somehow more alive than any of us. He exists beyond the page, not held back by the laws of time and space. He emanates a light only found from enjoying the presence of his Creator. I reflect that same thought of light by making his page filled with a sunshine and swirling clouds. His light so intense it casts a shadow on the page. He is even brighter than even the sunlight! I fell in love with these children and they are not even my own. I have to say this is my favorite commission of all time! Thank you @elyshiar73 for trusting me with this painting and with your tender story! I’m so glad to create art that celebrates all of your children together! I pray this will help others on the same path we are on to hang on to hope! #lovingothers #artfortheheart #thisiswhyidothis
