Hope Grows Here 🌱

Some words become more than words. They become a reminder. A mission. A little declaration of what we believe.

For me, those words are:

Hope Grows Here.

I created this Hope Grows Here shirt because I believe hope is something worth planting.

Not the kind of hope that says everything will always be easy. Not the kind that ignores pain or pretends hard things don’t happen.

The kind of hope that looks at a difficult season and says, this is not the end of the story.

A message born from my own story

There have been seasons in my life when hope felt very far away.

I know what it is like to wonder what comes next. To walk through things you never expected to walk through. To look at something broken and wonder if it can ever become beautiful again.

But I’ve also learned that God can grow beautiful things in places we thought were barren.

Sometimes hope begins as the tiniest seed.

A kind word.

A safe person.

Someone willing to listen.

A hand reaching out.

A reminder that you are not forgotten.

A reason to believe that tomorrow can be different from today.

And sometimes, that little seed of hope grows into something much bigger than we ever imagined.

That idea has become woven into everything I create through At Forests Edge.

I paint flowers because beauty matters.

I tell stories because stories can remind us who we are.

I create resources because I want people to encounter truth in ways that feel tangible and beautiful.

And I created this shirt because I wanted to take that message beyond a painting, a book, or a podcast.

I wanted people to be able to wear it.

Hope is meant to be shared

There is something beautiful about seeing someone wearing a message that you need to hear yourself.

Maybe someone sees your shirt on a difficult day and simply reads:

Hope Grows Here.

Maybe they smile.

Maybe they stop and think.

Maybe they remember that their circumstances don’t get the final word.

Maybe they realize that there are still people who believe their life is worth investing in.

That’s the kind of message I want to carry.

Because hope isn’t something we are meant to keep tucked away.

Hope grows when we give it away.

But this shirt has another purpose

When I created the Hope Grows Here shirt, I wanted it to do more than encourage the person wearing it.

I wanted every shirt to help plant hope somewhere else, too.

That’s why 100% of the profits from the Hope Grows Here shirt are donated to Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network (CVAN).

CVAN provides support and advocacy for people and families affected by domestic violence and abuse.

This is especially meaningful to me because I believe that creating a safer world begins with believing people deserve safety, dignity, compassion, and a future.

Sometimes we wonder what difference one person can make.

But that’s how gardens work.

One seed doesn’t look like much.

Until you plant it.

Then another.

And another.

And eventually, something begins to grow.

So, where does hope grow?

It grows in homes where children feel safe.

It grows when someone finally tells the truth and is believed.

It grows when a survivor discovers that their story isn’t over.

It grows when a mentor shows up consistently for a teenager who needs someone in their corner.

It grows when we choose compassion.

It grows when we use what we have to help someone else.

It grows when we refuse to believe that brokenness has the final word.

And sometimes…

it grows right here.

In our homes.

In our communities.

In our churches.

In our schools.

In our gardens.

In our art.

In our stories.

In us.

Hope Grows Here. 🌱
