One Story, Woven: A Free Two-Year Bible Reading Plan

One Story, Woven: A Thematic 2 Year Bible Reading Plan
There is a thread that runs through every page of Scripture. You may have felt it before without quite naming it… that small, golden pull tugging you from Genesis toward Revelation, whispering that none of it is separate, that all of it is one great story still being told.
I have spent the last season with my hands full of watercolor and my heart full of that very thread. And today, I get to open my palms and hand it to you.
Introducing One Story, Woven: A Two-Year Bible Reading Journey, a free, thematic Bible reading plan, and my gift to anyone standing at the edge of the forest, teenager or grandparent, longtime believer or brand new seeker, wondering if the story of Scripture could ever feel like their story too.

What Is a Thematic Bible Reading Plan, and Why Two Years?
Most reading plans hand you a checklist. Read this chapter, check this box, move along. And there is a place for that kind of discipline… but it is not the only way to walk with God’s Word.
A thematic Bible reading plan, sometimes called a topical or themed Bible reading plan, invites you to wander a little differently. Instead of marching straight through the Bible in order, you follow threads: hope, covenant, longing, redemption, home. You watch a single theme rise up in the Psalms, echo through the Prophets, and bloom fully in the Gospels. It is less like reading an encyclopedia and more like following a path through an old growth forest, one where every turn reveals how deeply connected the trees really are beneath the soil.
I chose a two-year Bible reading plan, not a one-year plan, because I did not want this to feel like a race. Real transformation is slow and rooted, like anything worth growing. This is a plan for savoring, not sprinting, a slower, thematic way to read through the whole Bible at a pace that lets it actually take root.
Why I Wove This Plan by Hand
If I am honest, this plan did not begin with a business plan or a launch date. It began at my own kitchen table, watching my two teenagers stepping further into their own faith, and a quiet longing in my chest that would not let me go.
My teenagers are in high school now, at the age where they are learning to read Scripture on their own, without me standing over their shoulder, without me holding their hand through every page. I wanted them to have something they could pick up and walk through independently… a guide that would not just point them to a passage, but help them see how every passage connects to the one before it and the one after it, all the way from the garden to the manger to home. I wanted them to know the whole, woven, unbroken thread of it, the kind of understanding that roots deep and holds steady long after they’ve left my kitchen table for good.
So this was never written for theologians. I am not one, and I did not make it for them. I made it first for my own teenagers, and then, because a mother’s love has a way of stretching wide, I made it for anyone else standing at that same threshold… teenagers reading it on their own for the first time, college students far from home, eighty year old saints who never quite got to make these connections themselves, men and women alike, anyone ready and willing to follow the thread.
I am, first and always, a watercolor artist. I think in washes and layers, in the way one color bleeds gently into the next until something whole emerges. So when I sat down to design this reading journey, I could not help but treat it the same way I treat a painting… slowly, prayerfully, one layer of meaning laid over another, until my own children, and yours, could see the whole picture at last.
Every theme in this plan was chosen with care. Every season of your two years was matched to the rhythms of longing and hope that so many of us carry, whatever season of life we find ourselves in, walking through a valley, raising a family of our own, or simply trying to remember that we are fully loved, fully seen, and fully forgiven.
I even created the cover myself, a small watercolor offering to sit alongside the words, because I believe beauty is never a distraction from truth. It is one of the ways truth reaches us… and one of the ways I hoped it might reach my own teenagers too.
What You’ll Find Inside
This is not a plan that will overwhelm you. Inside these thirty pages, you will find:
- A thematic structure guiding you through two full years of Scripture, woven around ideas rather than strict chronology
- A gentle, sustainable pace, built for real life, real seasons, and real weariness
- Space for wonder, because the Bible was never meant to be rushed through like a to-do list
- A story that keeps circling back to hope, no matter where in Scripture you find yourself
Whether you have read the Bible cover to cover a dozen times or you are standing at its edge for the very first time, wondering if it has anything to say to you, this plan was woven with you in mind.
This Gift Is Free, Because Hope Should Never Have a Price Tag
Here is the truest thing I can tell you: I did not create this to sell it. I created it because I believe anyone who longs for guidance in reading Scripture deserves a way in, regardless of what they can afford, regardless of where they are starting from.
So One Story, Woven is available to you completely free. All I ask is that you join our little community at the newsletter, so I can walk this forest path alongside you, season by season, as we go.
