Symbolism & Meaning:

Zinnias are often associated with endurance and remembrance, but to me, they radiate moral beauty — the kind of goodness that glows from the inside out. The Greek word used in Galatians is agathosune (ἀγαθωσύνη), which means virtue that actively chooses what’s right, even when it’s inconvenient or unseen. Not perfection — but a heart that aims for good.

Why I Chose This Flower:

I chose the Zinnia because it’s a humble hero in the garden. It blooms wildly and freely, needing very little to thrive. That’s goodness — growing in the cracks, blooming where it’s planted, and lighting up even the darkest corners. This painting is a little celebration of those everyday decisions to do good, speak truth, and live with integrity.
